Body Image

I have been thinking about this a lot lately.
I know we all have our issues with our bodies. "I don't like this.  I wish that was different.  I want more of this.  I want less of that."
I don't know one person who doesn't have something they don't like about themselves.  Not one.
We all get together and rag on ourselves.  We are so critical openly and privately.  Then we hear about a woman who we think is perfectly beautiful in every way, and she is taking extreme measures because she hates the way she looks.  What?!  We can't figure out how she can think that.  How can that be?  She is perfect in every way!  I would kill to have her legs, or hair.  How can she not see what I see?
It is all about our perception.  How we see ourselves.  How does Heavenly Father see us?  He loves us.  Do you think he cares what size pants we were, or what color our hair is?  I think he hears our thoughts, our critical thoughts of ourselves and he thinks, "How can she think that? How can she not see what I see?"
It is hard to not get caught up in it.  But we need to be careful.  When those thoughts seep in, we need to replace them with loving compliments.  We need to watch what we say about others based on the way we feel about ourselves.  We need to be careful of what we say in front of our sisters and daughters.
We need to stop wasting all this energy and time hating ourselves.  Lets love who we are!  I know I am not perfect 100 percent of the time, but I am grateful for my body.  Now working on loving it 100 percent.....
